Morera & Vallejo Industrial presents the first agricultural plastic that biodegrades in less than three months

The problem for which Biomulch offers solution is that the current black agricultural plastics are made from polyethylene film, which is a material that presents several difficulties for the farmer, mainly environmental. These mulches have to be removed once the harvest is done. However, despite the time spent, there is always a percentage – between 10 and 20 percent – left on the ground. In addition, recycling is complicated due to its high contamination by soil, stones and waste.

However, the new biodegradable plastic, being made on biological principles, would not need to be removed from the ground. Once the crop is harvested, the farmer would pass the plow and the plastic would enter the soil and disappear, being a biological additive comparable to the nutrients added to the crop.
