13 May CETEC presented the successful final results of the BIOMULCH project
Last Thursday, May 9, CETEC presented the successful final results of the BIOMULCH project “Integrated solution for innovative biodegradation control of agricultural plastic mulches”. The achievement of sustainable mulching for strawberry cultivation in the province of Huelva, based on biodegradable polymers, natural substances and a selection of microorganisms. At the Chemplast Congress in the talks on innovations for sustainable agriculture, the different approach to the problem of quilting in agriculture by BIOMULCH was exposed, which are either abandoned in the field or are difficult to recycle. The solution with biodegradable polymers that once fulfilled its mission in the field of culture, can be biodegraded in less than 3 months by selected microorganisms. The project has been financed by the Fast Track to Innovation program of Horizon 2020 and has had the participation of 5 partners, the Technological Center of Footwear and Plastic, Morera and Vallejo Industrial, FKUR, Thatchtec and ADESVA.
